CD jammed Error 3
Can someone suggest what to do if a cd is jammed? I have a 2000 470 and the dealer is telling me they don't do repairs and it would cost $580 to have a new cd player installed!
Should I butter knife it?
Help!!!!

I bought my 470 from a Lexus Tech and he told me when this happens to take a credit card and just swipe it back and forth in the cd slot...sort of like if you were swiping it in a credit card reader and keep your finger on the eject button. Do this while the car is turned on....and eventually the cd will catch and eject. He said that is how they got them out when customers came in with stuck cds. Sure enough, the time came when I had to try it for myself...and low and behold...it worked. Good luck.

Thanks Trace! I'll be swipping my card through that tonight. Sure beats paying for a new cd player-now I'm wondering if that's all they do and end up charging that on the bill! That is just ridiculous.

Try these guys. I've called them with questions. They were pretty helpful.

Nope, all original cds or burned without labels. I just use a sharpie to label it.
The trick worked! Gotta thank Trance!
Now I've got a new question...so the jammed cd came out. I tried putting some other original cds in and then it wasn't accepting any even with the green load lights on.
I waited-not wanting to jam it up again. Then this white piece of half-moon plastic came out.
Anyone know what it is?
