Default 2002 rear entertainment center

Hello all,
I have a 2002 LX470 with I guess is an aftermarket rear entertainment center. It is the overhead made by audiovox 7.5 I believe inch screen. My question is it did not come with a manual, and I want to know more about it, such as what headphones to buy, do I need an FM modulator, and can I get a manual for this model. If anyone has answers, I am listening. I have searched endlessly on the net to help me.
Thanks

Default audiovox

For starters you could try going to www.audiovox.com and try to find the model you have. Then contact them for a replacement manual. Often times you can download manuals from websites. You could also try going to a reputable hi fi shop in your area and ask a tech if he can figure it out for you...spot him $20 for his efforts. The good techs can figure out any set up in a matter of minutes. Good luck

Default LX-470 Aftermarket Overhead DVD?

Hi,

We're new to the forum although I've been a GS300 owner for over a year.

We just purchased a 2000 LX-470 in great condition. It has a sunroof but no DVD player. The dealer suggested Circuit City but they would not install an overhead unit due to the suede liner panel. They said it's too easy to damage. They suggested the headrest units instead but they are $1,500 plus $300 to install, ouch!

Has anyone had good luck with aftermarket overhead units?

Thanks in advance

Getting a flip down unit in a car witha sunroof isnt a problem. There are special brackets that you can get with the unit to work.

I would recommend, since you have a suede headliner, to find an audio shop that has good installers. The major reason I dont like flip down monitors, is that you have to cut into the headliner. But headrests....you don't have to cut anything (well with the replacement headrests).

Over all, your best investment would be the headrests. Being that you get two screens rather then just one.
