Hi, I have an annoying high pitched rattle/squeak that seems to come from the rear of my 2002 LX 470 when going over certain bumps. Of course, this can't be heard when the windows are up...so quiet., but when they're down, it's quite noticeable. Interestingly, I have a friend that owns an '02 as well with the same issue (just not as loud) and before that he owned an "02 Landcruiser with the same problem. Does anyone have any similar experiences? Know what it is...how to fix? Help, please. Thanks!

On my landcruiser, I placed two pieces of inner tube between the spare tire and the frame where the spare contacts the body. The spare moves and squeeks on it's lifting winch.

I had same problem with my '03 470. The dealer found out that the rear bumber had been "pushed in" ever so slightly...not doubt helped along by members of our great driving society. The styrofoam-like material in the bumper was touching the chasis and I had that annoying high pitched squeak everytime I went over a bump at slow speeds. Apparently it is a pretty easy fix once your truck is on a lift. Hope this helps and good luck.
