I have a(nother) newbie question. I want to be able to install one of those bike carriers on the back of my 2004 LX.
The bumper on the truck has a receptacle where I can put (I think) a towing hitch. It's behind a removable panel. Right now I just see a square surrounded by 4 holes.
Does anyone know what I need for this? I am assuming I need a hitch. Then I think can get a bike carrier that goes into the hitch. (I've never actually had one of those carriers so I'm guessing.)
And is the dealership the only place to find what I need for this truck?
Thanks in advance,
Kevin

You need to buy the receptacle that goes into that square hole plus the 4 bolts and washers to attach it. It's shown in the factory manual (big book) for '03+ vehicles. Downside is you end up w/ the ugly hitch visible from behind as you can't cover the hole w/ the plastic cover anymore w/o removing the trailer receptacle. The alternative is to bolt on a tow bar underneath to the chassis. This is way my LX came (Drawtite towbar). I removed that and replaced it and the entire rear bumper w/ a 7700 lb tow capacity steel towbar bumper for the LX470/LC made in Australia.
