Default Why Gen 4 Nav on 07 LX?

To me Lexus has really droped the ball on this. Why the heck would they do this? We just had a meeting and was told it would not have it

From a $ standpoint, why change anything on the (probable) last year of production? I wouldn't.

Lexus probably has a bunch of the old Gen 4 nav units left on the shelf, so the oldest design gets to use them up.

I'm guessing since it's probably it's last year of production they decided not to put money into putting the Gen 5. It's still a beautiful truck though!

Yeah, all the gen-5 models are revamped (IS, ES, etc). I'd expect a new '08 w/ gen-5. I've heard that the '07 Landcruiser has gen-5 nav, though.

Honestly, how many incremental LX's do you think Lexus would sell if they put the time and $ into upgrading to Gen V navigation? As much as I love our 2006, I honestly think the answer to that question is 0. Toyota/Lexus likely realizes that their resources are better spent elsewhere in the lineup, including readying the next generation big SUV (whatever it ends up being called).

they put gen 5 on the RX350 this year though, even though it's not new. the body style has been around for 3 1/2 years already...

i think it may have something to do with the integration of ML w/ the new gen nav, which for some of the models took up to 6 months. since cars like the SC and LX are generally fully loaded w/ nav/ML, maybe they didn't want to mess with Gen V if it meant not having ML readily available...

Correct but unlike the revamped RX350, the LX is very near the end of its production run.
