Doing 03+ conversion. Where to buy reinforcement bar for cheap?
My sister hit someone in the LX470 about a year ago. Not too much damage, but the bumper cover and reinforcement bar was damaged. I just got around to taking apart the whole front end. I got a 03+ bumper cover and I also need a reinforcement bar. The dealer wants $350 for it!!! Talk about a rip off. A new reinforcement bar for my GS300 only costs $50 or so. Yes, I know the LX is a much bigger car, but the reinforcement bar is not that much bigger. Maybe $100-150 is a reasonable price, but $350 is not. Anyone find a cheaper source for these parts please post. Thanks!

Well it's actually made out of steel, not aluminum. If you remove the front bumper cover, there is a big horizontal steel bar that the bumper cover sits on. What you referred to as a impact cross beam (the dealer computer references this part as a reinforcement bar). If anyone has info where to get this part cheap, please let me know! Thanks in advance

come on, you guys who put the ARB bar on...your all 02 and older? I know someone has a 03+ that is willing to sell this guy their reinforcment bar....come on guys.
on another note, jeff, how the heck did you let her drive around for a year with a messed up bumper?

Ease up man, just buy a used one. It is covered up, so it doesn't matter. Most big salvage yards are on a network to find parts. If they don't have it, they know someone who does.
I picked up a new hood off of a matching black SC for 300 bucks, and didn't have to paint it. That was out of a yard in Dallas, though.

I have the entire front (reinforcement bar, bumper cover, fog/turning lamps, foam cover that goes over the reinforcement bar), but will only sell everything together (U pickup preferably, as they are big). Got the rear, too (rear bumper cover, step bumper support, etc.). I don't know anyone else on this or the mud board in this country who has replaced the front/rear bars on a '03 or newer. You'll likely find lots in Australia or the Middle East, as they tend to replace their bumpers when the vehicle is new. IIRC, it's too light to be steel (it could be...it has a weird sandwich construction inside). The '02 one doesn't fit w/ the '03 bumper cover?
