Guys,
I was trying to put my starting [home] address in my Nav.
I pressed "navi" button, that suppose to open up 4 touch button. One of which is "My place". But I can only touch the "Volume" button. The "My place" button remains gray [doesn't work if I touch].
Do you know whats going on? What could be wrong. I think my navi is AVN6600.
Please help me if you can.

Is it not a stock headunit? I would suggest posting in the audio video section if its aftermarket. only thing i can think of is your trying to push it while your moving and it is disabled. You must stop to push those buttons or do a modification to the system to allow it to be used while driving.

i am not sure what you are trying to ask... but i hope this may help.
for the oem navi, press the menu button. then press volume button. then you will press the upper left corner, lower left corner, upper left corner, then lower left corner. this will bring you a new screen. and you will press override until you hear a beep. and after you have successfully dont this, you will be able to drive while you use the input of address on your stock navigation. BUT hint, you must do this everytime you start your engine.
If you have an aftermarket unit, and the navigation doesn't let you input while you drive... while, srry i dont no what to say... it doesn't happen to me when i use mine. I have an aftermarket Eclipse AVN6600. i guess all you can do is to bring back to the place where you get your unit install and ask them about it.

davidsong,
Thanks a lot man.
I could atleast override and input my address. But as u said when I stop the engine all gone.
My part is OEM and I guess the previous owner's setup is still there. But do you know how can that "engine stop all gone" can be avoided? or do I have to go to dealer.
But in any case thanks.

to have that annoying stuff removed, you can A) buy the module that goes behind the navigation or B) go to your dealer to solve this. BUT most dealer wont help you unlock this method as they are afraid of being sued.
