Steph23, I'm right there with you. I went out to the garage and tried the sequence last night. Gt the override, but once I released the emergency brake, the screen went back to the standard view (no movie visible.)
aedgington, I'm going to feel like an idiot asking if you were being serious about the Anarchist's LX Cookbook, so I'm going to do a search right now for it.

1loudLX, I'm going to cry if I plow through a set of rear brakes in a month because I've been driving at "one click."
Has anyone else tried this and can vouch that the emergency brake doesn't engage?

Dude I didn't want to say anything because Jim said it, and I thought he knew, but I don't think the software nav override is a DVD override also. You need to hardware spoof to run dvds on the move. See my first post in this thread.

Jayson, i wouldnt suggest you do it 24/7 but yeah its doable. Your rear brakes and your emergency brakes are two different setups.
But as aedgington said, the software might need to be hardwired to allow dvd use while on the move.

Guys, I only said the thing about playing the dvd's because there was a guy on mud who got his to work using the pushbutton sequence. When the vehicle is moving, I notice that unless I do the pushbutton sequence, the dvd button is not highlighted. After I enter the override sequence, the button highlights. I haven't actually tried to play dvd's while moving, as I just presumed that since I can see the button highlighted while moving and the other guy on mud was able to do it, it was a given. I took another look at that thread on mud and it seems most people were not able to get dvd's to play using the override sequence; it was just that one guy. So who knows if his LC was used and the prev. owner maybe cut the e-brake wire. One way to find out if you need both velocity and e-brake wires or just the e-brake is to do what 1LoudLX said, and that's to engage the e-brake 1 click and drive slowly and see if it'll play. If not, you need both wires. I'm not sure if cutting the wires will cause any other problems w/ the nav, though. Another way is to use a switch spliced in those wires.

Gents
When going into Gen 4 nav service/loading setting. Multiple choices come up for e.g. AUS-tsw and if you chose to load, does anyone know what the different files are, and if you press OK what changes. I have an 06 LX470 in Australia with the setting set to JPN-tsw

Heres a link to the detailed instructions on how to do this! Theres a lot to read and it looks very intimidating, but if you follow it step by step by each little detail, it is not hard at all, I did it on my lunch break and it took about 30 minutes to complete and have the dash back up and installed! NO MODULES NEEDED! I even posted a confirmation e-mail at the end of the forum for those that are hessitant about doing this! Good luck.

ps. Sorry, its the 4th posting down from that link! The first post is for the module and about 4 postings down someone else gives detailed instructions on how to do this without the module.
