I HATE the black right now becuase its so freaking dirty. And, I cant say enough how unhappy I am with the bottom trim being gray all the way around. Still, the black paint looks so nice when clean.

you can rephrase this - you can't buy good taste, regarless of money. And I don't think you will need to look hard for the evidance. What were we at? Ah, the LX470 colors

So 1Loudlx, how hot does your car heat up in the summer?

Its fine in the summer. I have 70% front window, 5% all other 9 windows. Sure it gets warm, but not nearly as hot as the LS which only has 50% on all the windows and the front windows clear. Not to mention its black.

My truck is light enough that it reflects enough light during the summer, but dark enough that it absorbs heat form the sun in the winter. i was sitting in my truck today with the outside temps around 30, car had been off for two hours but was still relatively warm inside. No need to turn over the motor, but i did after 30mins of listening to music and charging my phone.

Here in the sunny Southwest, the only colors I definitely would not buy are black (can probably fry eggs on the hood in the summer), dark blue/burgundy/dark green. First choice is white or anything close to whiteas it's less susceptible to fading, stays cooler. My old 4runner is white w/ light gray interior, honda prelude has darker tints (both cars have metallic tints, as they reflect heat unlike dye tints), black interior. The honda gets a hotter inside in the summer (this is with both cars using reflective windshield screens). The LX stays the coolest inside, thanks to the UV glass and light colors.

Wow !!! I have to send special thanks to Jim for his detailed info on servicing the LX. I printed out Jim's post and its gnna be very useful for me. I never thought I could split up the service as Jim opined. Typically, I throw my $$$ at the dealer and he takes it cleans up my car, provides coffee, some donuts, and other niceties, and everybody seems happy That's the beauty of CL, you get so many owners with oodles of experience and knowledge...

this thread is ruining my life JK but do with I had a solid color - trucks on hold, found new house- could get nuts, otherwise we will just paint the bottoms black

Jim and I have the same color - Sand Dollar Pearl And those are HID lights (LOWS) with superbright FOGs... If you look closely you'd see my two other rides - Pearl White LS400 and white Matrix. Guess I am a Toyota fan, eh ?
