I guess you've convinced me to stick with my console and just take out the factory head unit. I didn't realize that the shape of the dash was different from the 2000 to the 2003. (Don't feel like doing any hacking )
Not sure if I should create a new thread for this; however, is it at least possible to get a steering wheel with buttons on it for my 2000 ?

I'm planning on using the buttons to control the computer
In no way will they be used to control anything factory. . .
I would hope at least structurally the steering wheels should be interchangeable.

I've seen a couple of carputers w/ factory steering buttons rigged up & even one w/ the stock radio buttons set up; but they were much more time consuming and expensive than the guys thought they would be.
I've also seen a couple where a mini-keyboard was disassembled and placed around the steering wheel, which was a lot easier, but less OEM looking.
My advice would be to get the Lilliput touchscreen & just use a USB cordless mouse until you have the carputer finished. THEN refine the input interface.
