Hi guys,
I don't know the term but I broke the plastic back light covering while backing up. Mine is 2001 LX470 [white]. The bulb is working just fine and the plastic is cracked [not really broken].
What would be my options? Should I buy the cover from dealer or there are some places for a cheaper deal [can you help me on that?].
Its not the side light on the back. This is right portion of the left back light cover.

I am not sure if I express it correctly. I will try to post a picture later on.
Please give me some suggestion.

I attached the picture. Seems like a scrach but it is actually broken.

i dont think there is anything you can really do to fix it up where it will look like new. if it is actually broken, you should make sure no water is getting inside the lens. You'll probably have to get a new one. You can check ebay, sometimes people are selling used ones, but be sure to get a light only for the 98-02 model years because in 03+, the tailgate light assembly is wider. check www.lexuspartsonline.com they are a lot cheaper than the dealer and just in case you dont have it, here is the part number for the tail light:
81591-60070. good luck.
