Default vibration in steering column

I recently had an intermittent vibration in the steering column. It only happens when I turn off the ignition and the steering wheel retracts. On top of that, it only happened about 1 time in 20. The dealer said it was a known problem and though they could not repeat it, they put in some "shims". This has reduced the rate from 1 in 20 to once in a blue moon, though it does still happen on occassion. If anyone can shed light on this problem, and what the true fix is, please advise.

thanks.

The "shims" were a fix until Lexus redesigned the steering column. Now it is available, the dealership should replace the ENTIRE column, motors and all.
