I have an opportunity to purchase a 2006 LX470 CPO vechicle with 42,000 miles. Price is around $45,500. What do you guys think about the deal? Are the high miles something to be concerened about? Or since it has the CPO warranty will I be OK?
Any opinions will be greatly be appreciated.

you don;t have anything to worry with powertrain etc. Just watch the price.

I would not worry about the high miles. Better to get a newer vehicle w/ high miles over an older vehicle w/ low miles, as the latter means either it wasn't driven much or it was driven on lot of short errands (BAD). Lots of miles imply highway miles (GOOD). The wear and tear on a vehicle comes from age (environment/elements) and the start/stop cycles. When you are at a constant speed on the interstate, there is very little wear and tear on the engine/drive train provided the owner had the scheduled maintenance done. Even if the front bearings haven't been repacked or ATF hasn't been changed, it's not old enough to hurt. $45K isn't too bad (a little steep considering the factory warranty expires at 50K mi). What does the KBB say? FYI, I got my '03 w/ 49K mi back in Jan '06 (3 yr old vehicle) for $42.2K w/ CPO extended to 5yr/100K. At that time, a fair deal on a CPO '04 w/ 25K mi was about $45K, so I think your price is a tad steep. I'd say $44K w/ CPO is a decent price, or call and find out how much to extend the platinum factory warranty to 100K and have the seller knock that off the price. It's much cheaper to add the factory warranty extension before it expires than after.

Pretty fair price, considering it's CPO.
I think my main consideration (were it me) would be how long the vehicle were kept. If you're looking at it for short term (2-3 years), you're going to get killed on resale. If you're in it long term, sounds like a better-than-decent buy.

You should be just fine. We bought our 03 LX with 62k miles on it, non-CPO from Northside Lexus and have had zero problems with it (other than my wife pulling into the garage with top tailgate left open).
