Alright, I bought my 97' LX450 from an auction, it has all options except the gold lettering and it was in spotless condition, 25,000 miles, and it was purchased in september 2000. I didn't think my Dad would bid on it when I told him it was the car I wanted, I was sort of joking around because i never thought he would buy his 16 year old son, whose mom drives a 91 Ford tempo and who he himself drives a 88 jeep, a Lexus, but he did. The car started rolling down the lot and I looked inside, "nice" I thought, and nice from the inside too. Back then I didn't know much about LX history of Lexus, I didn't know they discontinued the 450 and brought the 470, till I looked at the dealer book afterwards *#@)!%$^%$, was my reaction. Then a few minutes after a couple of 470's rolled down the lot. Anyway, did i get ripped off or was it a decent deal, in teh dealer wholesale black book my car is valued around 32 g's. But either way, did I get a good deal?

We paid $31,000 and my dad wouldn't be caught dead driving anything that shows off his wealth. Besides ever since i was 10 i was running his party stores and making him rich, I still am, I guess he figured I deserved it.

If it has never been wrecked, flood damaged, used as a casket, etc, it sounds like a good deal. BTW, Incon (a turbosystem manufacturer from Australia) twin turbocharges both the 4.5 I6 and the 4.7 V8 for Arab sheiks with custom everything. Both engines end up at over 800hp and these crazy middle easterners drive at 180mph accross the desert highways for like 30 minutes straight.

180mph in a Landcruiser or LX540 is FAST. When I lived in Oman, I used to be able to get my parent's Landcruiser up to 90-95MPH on flat road going through the desert. Granted it was a '91 4.0l, but they aren't fast trucks.

The engine has 212hp. Heck, for 300hp I wouldn't go to the trouble of a turbo and I am a HUGE turbo fan. Heck the new RX300 with the 3.0liter is 220hp, not as much torque as the 4.5liter but still strong. I would need to know more about the engine but 300hp on 24valves and 4.5liters shouldn't be too hard. What is the compression ratio. Do you know the bore and stroke on the engine?

Here is the deal:
LX450--4.5ltr--212hp @ 4600rpm--275tq @ 3200--3.94x3.74--9 to 1 cr
RX300--3.0ltr--220hp @ 5800rpm--222tq @ 4400--3.44x3.27--10.5 to 1 cr
Your engine is a straight 6, I cannot remember for sure if it is a 12valve or 24valve design. Regardless, with more compression, better cam and high flow exhaust you should make an easy 300hp.
