Terrible Paint Fading
I found several people with this issue and looking for a solution and ideas. I have a smokey topaz colored LX470 - garage kept and waxed. The paint has been getting worse showing spots of white coming from inside the paint.
I have found on another site about 10 people with the same issue on the exact same color and year. Thus far no one has found a solution through Lexus. Lexus must know this is an issue with this paint job.
Looking for counsel, guidance, and advice.

if you baby it and keep it in a garage, i see no reason why it should be fading in anyway shape or form, i baby my lx. i keep it outside and for the past 3 years it hasn't been fading or any signs of paint corrosion what so ever. i think its the paint job that it was given.

Lexus actually has paint warrenty for 10 years.... With only that particualr color Lexus has had a problem with. Make sure you take it into service and tell them that it is a paint defect and you want it repaired. The body shop you take it to should do an all over paint job.

I got mine fixed last year. It was garage kept and waxed too. The fading occurs to the base coat, not within the clearcoat. Requiring the whole thing to be sanded and repainted.
