Default New 07 LX owner

Hi guys. I am taking delivery of a leftover 2007 LX470 Limited on Friday, and I was wondering what things I should look for, such as common problems (I hope there aren't many as I am coming from disastrous Mercedes) and other issues that are problematic.

My dad owns a LS460L and I noticed he has these really bright white license plate lights, and I also see them on other Lexus models. Will the LX come with these? Also, the truck comes with XM, but I was wondering how easy it would be for a shop to convert it to Sirius?

Thanks in advance, and I look forward to talking with fellow owners.

I absolutely LOVE this truck! I drove it back to Hoboken from Ramsey, NJ this afternoon and fell in love. The "Limited Edition" badges are a little cheesey, but I am not going to complain. It's a real nice change of pace from unreliable Mercedes, and plan on keeping Eugene (my girlfriend named him) for a very long time.

I sat in an LX570 and boy, what a vehicle, but it just doesn't look rugged like the 470. I'm really happy I pulled the trigger on this rig.

It's very geeky, but she likes it, so that's all that matters.

Congratulations !!!

I didn't know that the LX comes in a Limited series, because I never heard of it.

I own an 2006 and I can tell you that the LX470 is an awesome SUV.

Did you buy it from a Lexus dealer ?

Yep, I bought it from Prestige Lexus in Ramsey, NJ. I will be out and about with it today, so I will snap some pics of it and post them for you.

My only jaw dropping moment was the gas mileage. Cripes I forgot how thirsty SUV's are.

Yeah, the Limited Edition was an appearance package which was a black/stone vehicle w/ chrome door handles and black wood interior.

Congrats on your purchase!

Yeah, this SUV is very thirsty for fuel. My wife drives our LX because she has the shorter commute. I don't believe the NAV screen has never gone above 16 mpg since we've owned it. Yikes!

What does a gallon of fuel cost nowadays out on the east coast?

When you buy a big SUV , specially a Lexus you look beyond the mpg.

To me comfort and safety are number one, follow closely by reliability.

Congratulations again.

I paid 3.03 for premium at Costco on Sunday. STILL haven't taken any pics yet, but here is the link to the vehicle until I get pics up.

Lucky you.

I just filled up at Circle K $3.49 for Premium, a grand total of almost $71.00

here in the East Coast of Florida.

I compensate by driving less.
