Default Help LX470 refuse to start

Hi guys / gals

Newbie here,

I own a 1999 LX470, and today my car refuse to start, when i insert the key to the ignition, the steering extend but when I turn the ignition it won't start. no light, no warning appears, accept for the immobiliser symbol.

it seem the immobiliser won't allow the car to start. guys / gals any idea how to reset or override the immobiliser. so atleast I could drive the car so I can send it for repair

I hope you all can give some info to this problem, because currently the LX not in the city, so if i failed to start it, that's mean i got to use tow truck to towed her atleast 100km to the nearest toyota/lexus service center.

Thank You

1st step would be battery --check to make sure the terminals are tight

maybe then try new battery

Does the key have a remote fob built into it? Check the battery in your fob. You can also reset your ECU by removing the ground wire from your vehicles battery, then holding down the brake pedal with the wire off for about 15-20 seconds and then reattaching it.

Just in case (to rule this out) I'd start with checking the battery and reading the ODB2 error codes (you can get the reader in any auto store). And may be disconnecting it for overnight to let the ECU to reset. If this does not do anything... time to ask the dealership.
