Default VSC off and other issue...help!!!

Ok, here is the story.....I hopped over to the driver side from the passenger side, and along the way I must of pressed something.

Now on the dash board the VSC OFF is lite and another symbol (looks like 4 wheels with a X in the middle). I think the function is to lock up the steering because when i try to turn, it counter locks it

I have tried to press that '4 wheels with a X' function right underneath the hazard light, but it does not do anything...

Could someone help me figure out how to get rid of the VSC light?!?!

Thanks in advance!!

BTW..its a 2001 LX 470

I believe the button you're referring to as "'4 wheels with a X' function right underneath the hazard light" is set on/off by holding that button down for 5 seconds or so. Give that a try and see if the light goes off.

thanks for the reply guys...

I did some more research here and found out the solution...

1. turn the VSC back on

2. drive it straight for about 30 ft....then both lights should go off.

For the post above with the GS, I dont think its the traction control. I say this because when its off, the suv would almost "prevent any steering" even at very low speeds like 3 mph.

When you UNlock the center differential, VSC comes back on.

You accidentally hit the center diff lock button. Push it again. You might have to turn the steering in a slight "S" turn to get it to disengage (do this off pavement preferably).

I have accidentally bumped the center diff lock before and it can be a surprise if making a turn. Just push the button again, and the VSC & Center Diff lights should go out. At times may not release right away, but driving forward a small distance, or driving in reverse, should release it to the normal unlocked mode.
