I have a 1996 LX 450. The car is running fine, but the stereo is shorting out. While the main deck seems to be working, and all controls work, including the tape deck, the radio, and the CD changer, the sound goes out, and is usually out. I have been told this is probably due to a bad preamplifier, but I haven't yet been able to confirm this. Doesn anyone have any idea if this is this problem, and how best to solve this short of completely replacing the entire stereo system, which I'd rather not do. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.
