Scangauge on a 2000 LX470
Hi,
I have purchased a Scangauge II to install on my 2000 model Lexus LX470. I connect it to the ODB port near the brake pedal, it starts up, says it's connecting but never manages to connect. Tried it on my wife's RX350 - noproble.
Has anyone connected a Scangauge to a 2000 model LX470 - successfully?
Thanks

Hmmm.
Did you have to force a particular mode to get it to connect?
I have had a Unchip performance chip fitted to mine. maybe it's possible that this is interfering with the connection?
Incidentally the Unichip and a set of 3" extractors sure beefs up the power and torque and actuallt delivery better fuel economy

I'm guessing that the Unichip is your problem. Can you easily change it back to the factory chip as a test? Also, Scangauge should have pretty good tech support - probably worth a phone call.
I'm curious about the extractors, where did you get them and how hard was the installation?

Went to my Lexus dealer yesterday and he put his scanner on my vehicle. Seems that there are 3 modes of connection to a 2000 model LX470. He was able to connect in two of the modes but not the third. I suspect that the Scangauge is no equipped to try and connect in all three modes and the Aussie spec Lexus is in a different mode to the US version.
As for the extractors, i believe they were supplied by Air Power Systems - http://www.airpowersystems.com

I didn't realize that you are in Australia. Have you tried to email scangauge support? It happens that I live in the town where they are made (Tempe Arizona). If you can't get an answer from them, I will give it a try.
