It's hidden behind the entire glove compartment box. You need to take it out (by unscrewing the two screws at the bottom) and then you'll see some plastic covers (I think they are positioned vertically) which needs to be pulled out before you see the cabin filters. My '99 LX uses two filters. Probably all years have two filters.

Default Lexus Cabin Air Filter

1.The part number is 88568-60010

2.It is not a carbon filter

3. Quoted verbatim from Sewell Lexus Parts Website,

"The Lexus cabin air filter intercepts and traps these microscopic pollutants that could otherwise make it into your car's cabin and, more importantly, into your lungs.

Made of environmentally friendly, non-hazardous polyester, the Lexus interior cabin filter is located in the rear of the glovebox
."

4.Sometime back there was a DIY thread about changing air filter in this forum or IH8MUD.

Paper filter. Replace both every 15K mi. I made a HEPA filter from the frames last time I changed them, haven't tried them out yet. At least this way, if it works, I can just hose them off and reuse rather than pay $40/pr every 15K mi. The filters in my honda are much better quality, but cost twice as much although you only replace them every 30K mi. I would rather pay more if it means I need to change the filters less often. Seems toyota didn't take this path.
