It is glued to the board, something like two-sided 3M adhesive tape or similar. You should be able to rip it off, and replace.

I've never done the board rubber myself, but did the molding above the rear wheel well: it had the peel-off tape. So I would 'think' the rubber comes with it as well, but it is best to ask the dealer parts department, they will advise.

Pretty sure that top piece, the black rubber step part comes as a whole with the running boards and you cant order it separately. Just take em off, replace them with step sliders!

1loud, do you mean to take off the rubber, or to take off the whole running board and replace it with these 'sliders'? I'm actually thinking what to do with my badly scratched right-side running board, so knowing the options would be nice. Are there any pictures of these 'sliders'? Thanks!

No just the black long piece that you step on so I called Lexus of Englewood NJ and it costs $152 per side I am going to clean them up real good and use Back To Black by mother which works really well I used it on the mud flaps and it works great it's a black restorer

The ones on the right that say "stepsliders".

I have the tubestep sliders, slightly different design. Both will hold the weight of the vehicle if you go offroad and hit them on a rock, instead of bending and scraping like the stock ones.

Here is a shot of about how far both stick out, the tube slider being angled up and the step slider coming out flat.

Black to black works great, but its still just plastic, thats a lot of cash per side.
