Default 1998 LX470 Questions

Hi y'all,

I just joined the forum...

I bought my 1998 LX470 in 2002, been driving it for 7 years, and no complaints. Still love it.

My wife (against my advice) got a brand new Nissan Altima in 2005. Needless to say, the time just arrived to trade hers (ahemmm) so we just got her a new '09 ES350; I think I'm happier about that than she is - and she's very happy.

Anyhow, now that the stable is ALL "L"s...

My LX has 143,000 miles and runs great, but I'm about due for brakes. I've never been real impressed with the brakes, and was wondering if anyone had any advice --- maybe upgraded aftermarket parts? Just go with OEM? I would like it to stop with some authority.

Also, does anyone know if it is possible to add the newer license plate tailgate trim to a '98? (the chrome trim with clear lights on either side)

Mine have around 135 miles and it doesn't shift near as smooth as my 'gs300. It shifts harder with a "little" bump do you have same issue.
