Cracked side window trim ?!?
Hi - has anyone found the aluminum window trim on the fwd edge of the rear/side windows (the tilt open ones) cracked. I saw the left was cracked and now the right.
Just wondering if anyone has seen this, or knows if its covered under warranty?

I just bought a 2002 with 67k miles and mine are cracked too on both sides. I wasn't too worried about it but what would cause it. I'm guess hot/cold weather changes. My rig was from Vegas and driven to the owner's second home in Jackson, WY.
My warranty is long expired so unless there's a reason to change them I suspect I might just try a cosmetic repair.

The cracks are common. My left side is cracked, right one isn't. It's only covered under the original factory 4 yr/50K warranty, NOT the CPO warranty. The plastic piece is not sold separately (comes w/ the window, replacement cost is $900). It's 100% decorative. The new LC/LX got rid of that piece (maybe Toyota realized it was too brittle?).
