I am assuming your new LX is 2002. The 03's nav can be voice controlled which I was told one can using the voice to change the nav info during driving.

DVD park bypass
The dvd system can be bypassed to play in drive. I have even fed different video sources other than the DVD changer into this monitor by using some relays.

Pole Position
The DVD disk in inserted in the same changer magazine as the CDs (inside the center console on my car). I did it this morning in my 2002 LX470. I even got it to play a DVD while in Drive while holding up slightly on the E brake, but as soon as I started moving/roling it stopped playing (video that is, the sound kept going). It also had no problem playing a DVD-R disk, didn't try a DVD+R yet though, most of mine are DVD-R.
Still looking for the DVD bypass directions, I did read somewhere NOT to buy the thing on EBAY, everyone said it was a waste of money because all the thing on EBAY did was reroute wires which you can do manually.
