I have a 03 LX470. Yesterday was my third visit to the dealer to have the issues with the height sensors addressed. The first time the height sensors went bad was in 04 and they found one of the rear sensors bad so replaced it. Two years later, I had the same problem and they replaced 3 sensors. There were no charges for these visits.

Now, 4 years later and around 57,000 miles, I am having the same height sensor problem again. They told me I will have to have the sensors replaced again and the cost is going to be around $610.00.

Has anyone with a 03 LX470 experienced multiple problems with the height sensors?

Hello Lammele,

Last week I had to take my 03 LX470 to the dealer with the same issue. They had to replace 2 front height sensors. My warranty covered parts and labor.

I am the 2nd owner. It has done 42,000 miles.

Hi Lammele,

Yes, I bought the warranty from the Lexus dealear at the time of my purchase and I am gald I did. I got what is called "CERTIFIED PLATINUM" untill 7/15 or 100k miles for $2150 (bit expensive but it gives me a piece of mind).

When I had the sensor problem I was concerned if I had to pay for this out of my pocket. I post a question here on 2/13/10 "whole front end low to the ground". Joel4282GS informed me most warranties cover this type of problems.
