I noticed that the LX's interior doorhandles, foot wells, and gear shift **** are all illuminated at night, by what i think are amber colored LED's. Is this correct? Can those amber Ambient Lighting LED's be replaced with a different color? What part do i need? Has anyone else done this mod?

For doors and maps you'll need the 194's or 168's. For the dome you'll need the DE3175. I have an 00 and I'm pretty sure they're the same. I don't have the door handle lights so I have no clue what they are =X

True about the amber LED illumination, all the places you listed. Works so much better than say Audi's reds.

I don't think there are Lexus part numbers for different colours you would have to get radio shack generic LEDs and replace. Why would you - that's a matter of opinion Want to trade some audi red LEDs for your amber?

I did find some after market LED's (cool white color) that i am going to swap out for the existing ones (amber color.) I have already replaced the dome lights and door courtesy lights. Now i am replacing the ones in the footwell. I like the idea of the interior LED's matching the LED's of the running board on the outside of the truck.

THe only swap i haven't figured out is how will i replace the tiny lights in the interior door handles and in the sunroof control unit (that shines down on the gear shifter.)

Any thoughts or helpful hints?

1. Because these lights are not as obvious as the footwell lights, i haven't fooled with them, YET.

2. I did order the door release lever COOLWHITE LED's for the IS, that i think might be interchangeable. When i get a chance, i will take my entire door panel off and see if that is possible.

What are you thinking?
