I searched most of the threads but didn't find an answer to my problem, so...
2000 LX 470. The AHC is acting weird. It won't consistently raise or lower when you push the button. Sometimes it does, but most of the times it partially lowers or raises and the indicator light on the dash will continue blinking in the position I requested (ie-if I push HIGH the vehicle rises in the rear and the indicator shows a solid "N" and a blinking "H" that doesn't stop blinking).
Same thing for LOW. It may or may not respond and the light will blink continuously. It looks like the front end is in the LOW position all the time now. The fluid level is good. This just happened suddenly. It has been working fine although I don't use it a lot.
So, where do I start? Appreciate the help.

In doing some online searching, i found this link about fixing an AHC sensor. If you take it to a mechanic and the mechanic finds that the sensor is not working properly, this link could help.

Hope it helps, Brian

I would guess either the sensors or the pump is getting tired. When I have time, I'll try to look up the symptoms in the vol1 FSM. Is it either front or back (randomly) or is it always one end that behaves strangely?

It looks like the front won't raise right now and it's stuck in the low position. The back seems to be responding in both the high and low position.

Sounds like the pump is going bad.
I overhauled a lot of the AHC system on my '04 LX470.
-Replaced the globes... BTW.. dont waste your time and money on B&B aftermarket globes (junk). GET OEM ONLY if you are going to replace them.
-Replaced AHC shocks.. all four!
-Final key to the puzzle was the AHC pump assembly. I believe I kept the motor, and just swapped the pump itself. It was the easiest job... and I think I spent about $200.
Now everything works like new.
