Default Thinking of Buying CPO 2005 LX470

Found a nice 2005 LX470 with 65K CPO. Does the group know if this is a good year for the car? This will be a 3rd car used for hauling, bad weather, etc. I know after 2003 they upgraded the safety features (side curtain airbags) but I'm not sure if 2005 is the same as the 06 and after. Any thoughts would be most appreciated. I figure if it is CPO there is little risk. Thanks for the advice.

Do a search here on "Araco". Here's an interesting post by Jim Chow:

Here is a listing of the different specs, just plug in the different year you want. There were some minor changes in the 05-06-07 before Lexus revamped the LX in 08.

Just bought an 05 myself with 60k miles and the remainder of manufacturer's warranty. Bought it to replace my 98 which my wife rolled 5x. This is a rugged but refined vehicle. With CPO you should be fine.

IMO the 2006-7 models are the sweet spot. The added HP plus revised gearing transforms the vehicle. I had a 2002 and the 2006 is a much more enjoyable ride.
