Just bought a Lx470- few questions
hi everyone,
since having a new addition to our family, our 2nd son The RX wasnt cutting it any more. I was looking for a little roomier vehicle. Looked at brand new 4runners, GX470 and the few other mid sized SUV.
I just could get over the cheapness feel of the interior of every suv i drove. i liked the GX but it wasnt much larger than my RX.
So i bought this LX470 -2006 with 56k. I have to say i am really impressed by the way this SUV feels and drives. I feel like i can go anywhere and its built like a tank. I always appreciated the older lexus quality then the newer ones
I do miss the HID, so are there any plug and play kits out there? the bulbs from what i read are H1 and not 9006? maybe the more informed of you guys can guide me to the proper direction.
Thanks

I purchased one from the attached website which was very reasonably priced and worked well. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HID-C...Q5fAccessories

Nice find! Looks like you found it at a Rover dealership? Lol, wonder if someone actually traded that sweet LX for a Rover?
I too have been looking into the HID for my 07 and have considered these to go with the HID's: (just a thought)

I'm running a xenondepot kit in my '03, but have heard they have cheapened and integrated the components (mine are philips thin ballasts w/ philips bulbs and separate igniters). If you are interested in a different H1 bulbs, I have some new, unopened JDM PIAA H1 bulbs (4300K, I think) that I don't have any use for (bought 'em for my honda prelude, but sold the car before I could use the bulbs).

I just put these in 2 weeks ago. 6000k looks very OEM.
The projector lamp has a nice cut off without a retrofit. I have not been flashed once by oncoming traffic for glare. When behind cars, the light pattern stays well below their windshield rear view mirror. Again, no glare or misdirected blaring light.

Hi,
The LX uses an H1 bulb for the low beams meaning that you would need to purchase an H1 HID kit. We still sell HID kits that use Philips HID bulbs however we no longer use Philips ballasts in our kits. Philips ballasts are great for OEM HID applications however they are also designed for OEM HID applications. In OEM HID applications the ballasts are usually encased within the headlight protecting them from water damage. In aftermarket HID applications the ballast is usually mounted outside the headlight where it is susceptible to weather damage.
The ballasts used in our HID kits are specifically designed for aftermarket applications as they are epoxy sealed making them water tight.
Regards,
Steve

how do you install these h1 hid lights? is it plug and play or you need lots of cutting and tapping to wires? also, can you just install h1 hid and without changing the drl setup?
do you have a preview of instructions on how to do this?
thanks

He's correct all i had to do was drill a hole the rest was almost as simple as plug and play. I did however have to remove the battery on the drivers side to drill a hole there but that was the only thing.
