Just registered and am new on here (after endless search on above mentioned subject).

Has anyone had any problem with their 1999 LX470 driver side door actuator gone dead? My PDL can't activate the doors to be locked however it is able to unlock all doors.

I was told that the actuator is exclusively from Lexus and they're not cheap to replace say the least. I've read online that the DC motor could be replaced to some extent without being charged at least $500++ (Lexus dealership). How affective can this D.I.Y. be in the long run?
