Those bulbs come out very easily. You gently turn them, I think to the left, and you'll feel them start to move. It's less than a quarter of a turn to free it from the housing.

Couple of things: 1. When I did this mod to my 2GS DRL's the DRL's no longer came on with the LED bulbs. However, the bulbs did come on with the high beams. 2. While the LED's looked pretty sweet when on, it did not outweigh the benefit of the usual high beam illumination. The LED's put out no usable illumination. I changed them back after a day.

I had my DRL's turned off at the dealer using the Lexus Personalization System. I gives the truck such a clean look on the road. Additionally, I haven't once seen another LX with it's DRL's shut off. In that regard, there is a certain amount of uniqueness.

Post a pic once your bulbs are in. No doubt, they'll look very cool.

Thanks for the help I'll go try this out soon its to the left on both sides?

And I was told the opposite that they would work as DRL's but not as high beams. I know they dont work well if at all for lighting purposes but who uses DRL's for those anyways lol? I already have 6k HIDs and once i get my fogs with those as well I think i wont have a need for high beams.

I'll post pics soon thanks for your insight

So i installed them both and they wont turn on. When i had the left one in first it was on but not the halogen right one. Then with both LED's in neither will turn on. Any ideas why?

turn your headlights on and put the high beams on, do they work?

Also, did you have your ebrake on when you were testing the DRL function?

Just got them to turn on with the headlights they dont illuminate much if at all but they look nice next to the 6k HIDs. I believe to run them as DRL's i will need a VLED module to bump up the voltage they are recieving. I saw it on a thread where they installed some on an IS.

What effect does having the ebrake have on the DRL's?

if the ebrake is on when engine is started, they are disabled.

You must never drive at night, how could you get rid of high-beam capability?

Well I live in SF and i dont see much use of high beams with city lights. However i do sometimes take the backroads and while high beams could be useful there I think with some matching fogs i should be fine.

I thought LEDs were supposed to be super effiecient like 1-6w at most each. Any1 know why I would need a module to up the voltage? I thought they use less energy then the stock halogens?

the DRLs are resisted to lower than 12v, which makes the high beam operate at lower intensity. With the LEDs, they need to get around 12v to illuminate, at the decreased voltage, they dont work.
