Default DVD & NAV Bypass-Has anyone ever cut both VSS wires?

I've been looking at the wiring diagram for a 2004 Toyota Landcruiser which shows the Speed or VSS wire coming out of the combination meter (guage cluster?) into a junction and splitting off to two locations. One goes to the NAV Screen in the dash and the other goes to the NAV ECU. The violet wire that goes to the NAV Screen in the dash is the one that is cut for the DVD in motion override (along with grounding the parking brake wire). Has any one been ambitious enough to cut the other wire that goes to the NAV ECU to see if this unlocks the rest of the NAV functions-destination input/phone? I think that this one would need to be switched to be able to return the VSS signal when the bypass was not needed. Not looking to reinvent the wheel if somebody tried this and it didn't work. I've attached the pdf for those interested.

There's an override to get to the NAV functions while in motion, which works in my 07 lx as well as 03 4runner.

1. Go to Menu, then select volume.
2. Tap the upper left corner of the screen, bottom left corner, top left corner, bottom left corner. This should bring up another menu with an override button.
3. Press and hold the override button until it beeps.

This should allow you to input destination while in motion.

I do have this functionality now, but I was looking to upgrade the NAV dvd to the latest version-which I understand eliminates this ability. I've read about creating a hybrid disc, but have not seen confirmation that anyone has been successful with the 10.1 version.

data system from Japan sell a bypass with no wire cut, but I don't know if it would work for your year LX.
