Default tested fan motor?

Have you taken the fan out and tested with 12volts directly? if it works you have another issue, if not time to purchase a blower motor

Part 8279160030 on order - will now have a working blower.
OK...talk about frustration...just had a chance to install the part listed above...same symptom. More frustrating is the fact I paid a "platinum" level Lexus dealer to diagnose the issue - and was told "with 100% certainty it is the controller junction box"....

I guess it is time to take it back to the dealer...if this truck were not part of the family I would seriously be considering a change...

Krye - re your post - when I connect directly to the battery the blower spools up to "full on"...blower motor is fully functional. Thanks though, I appreciate your interest and help!

Having always felt one should update any link they start when new info is obtained......

Anyway, after two more months of more parts (more returns) and much more frustration (including turning the truck over to the dealer 2x - the first being a fix that was "corrected" - but when I picked up the truck - while driving away noticed the blower didn't work.

FINAL SOLUTION (LX470/UZ100's w factory phone only) - the phone "mute" lead had shorted - net was fan speed was now stuck on low. Insulated lead - all works perfectly (and the tilt away wheel now works as well???)

I really have to take my hat off to Annapolis Lexus - they helped a DIY'r troubleshoot (for fee, of course) - ultimately they identified the issue and worked with me on the overall cost (really, really fair folks).

Anyway, hope that helps someone.

Default LX 470 HVAV Blower Motor question

Arraco

thanks for info on blower motor. Mine is on again off again working/not working. I have a 2000 LX 470 and do not have the phone mute option. Any other ideas that may be worth checking into?

You do NOT have the factory phone (I thought it was standard)? You still may have the lead to the motor that would connect to the phone (and reduce the blower speed when a call is in progress). If so, that might be your issue.
