Default Lexus Link

I was told that the system did not work any more. That it had been discontinued, dead. However, this evening I pressed the emergency for a test to confirm my previous instructions and someone answered at Lexus Link. After overcoming my surprise I told him that I was advised that "Lexus link" did not function anymore. His response was "Yes it does and it will continue indefinitely". I was about to have the control panel replaced with a sun glass holder. Has anyone else experienced this? My little stubby antenna looks as though it has been shortened some as the wire is exposed. I probably will have to buy a new one if in reality the system continues to operate. That's why I'm asking should any of you have this system to advise me whether or not you are using it and your experiences with same.
Thanks,
Don

Hi Don, sorry for the misinformation. Mine did not work when i picked up my 2007 and the dealership told me that it wouldn't. I took them at their word. I did have the sunglass holder put in.

Hello Brian,
Thanks for the link. I was also advised by the selling dealer that it had been discontinued and they even offered to order a sun glass holder for me. After reading your ref link it was gen 1 that was discontinued. I phoned Lexus this AM and it is true that all is well with gen 2 at a cost of $199 or $399 per year for its use. The lower fee is for safety items only. I plan to keep the system installed and attempt to locate the gps antenna replacement bud since it just screws on. Mine has the end rubber end torn off. Thanks again for sharing great info.
Don
