Default CV Boots & Steering Rack & Wheel Bearings

Dealer is telling me I need about $2300 of maint done with those 3 items above. Truck is a 1999, has 140k on it. Anyone else have this fun themselves? This is pretty well the first repair I have done in 60K miles. I also had a few stints of putting very heavy wheels that were too big on there, as well as pulling a heavy trailer at the same time. I hear some clicking or knocking noise when the wheel was turned going slowly. I figured it would be something to this nature. The service manager said 'slinging grease' on it.

$995 CV boots
$1200 Steering rack
$150 bearings

Alignment.

Ouch! Still love the truck!

what are the issues that you are experiencing? or is the dealer just saying you need to do these repairs? do you see torn CV boots? how does the steering feel?
