Exclamation VGRS light

We have a 2006, LX470 and the VGRS light keeps coming on. We have taken it to the dealer two times but by the time we get there the light is off and they say they can't find anything wrong with it. We are concerned because the manual says not to drive when the light is lit.

Today, we packed up for a two week trip and were getting ready to leave at 4:30AM but when we started the SUV, the VGRS light came on and stayed on. We unpacked the SUV and waited until 7:00AM to take it to the dealer. We got half way there and the light went off. Now we are afraid to drive the thing anywhere because this is the third time this has happened..

I had this same problem after installing a Sat TV system, somehow that process fried out the VGRS computer. At 9 pm (central) I called Lexus of Honolulu, who informed me that the car was both safe and driveable in the current state. After travelling from St Louis to Las Vegas, the local dealer fixed the problem for us. The only effect of the light was that the steering did not become more sensitive for parking maneuvers. Thankfully, it was fixed under warranty, but as I recall it was not a
cheap fix. Hopefully you were able to enjoy your trip.
