I am a new member to CL and think this is an awesome idea. I just purchased a 99 lx470 two months ago and love it. My friend is a dealer and I went to the auction with him and paid 32,400 with 44k. The vehicle is in incredible shape. I was wondering about warranties. I'm under a manufactuer warranty for bumper to bumber until 50k and powertrain till 70k, I was wondering if it is worth 2k to extend my warranty thru Lexus for bumper to bumper till 80k? Have any of you out there seen any major problems with the 470 that I might want to purchase this? thanks for your response. Bobby

Do you feel lucky?! The extended warranty is basically insurance and given how expensive everything is to fix/replace, I would [and did] get the longest that I could when I purchased mine: 5 year/100K miles. $2K is not a lot extra for the peace of mind.

Yes, definately agree with purchasing the extended warranty. Parts and labor prices are steadily on the rise, so take advantage of the extended warranty.

You will probably need a new CD player every 10K miles, at $600 a pop, thats 6x$600=3600. So yeah I would get the warranty.
