Rattling sound in my LX 470

Lately, my LX has been giving me some sleepless nights

When I accelerate I hear a "rattling" sound. My mechanic said that it comes from the muffler. Anyone seen this before? What is the fix?

Check heat shields around the catalytic converters, ours was what was rattling, but we have a lot more rust in new york

I agree with Grey_es300, same story in NH where we have even more rust. The sound goes away once the vehicle is warmed up

Had the same problem last week. It was a broken cat converter clamp. Easy fix.
