Navigation Won't Go Into "Night" (Dim) Mode
Hello,
Just bought a 2005 Lexus LX470 with about 60,000 mi. Certified vehicle up to 125K. Beautiful condition.
I had the dealer "dial in" a couple of items to get it to my satisfaction before buying it (replace headlight lens, perform 60,000 service, new tires, etc.). After delivery, I drove it for a couple of days and was annoyed at the lock/unlock sequence as it was programmed, so I did take it back to have them reprogram the vehicle so that all doors unlocked when I put it in park. This apparently required them to do something computer-related.
Before I took it in, the Nav screen would dim - at night was my only experience - when I turned on the headlights. Now it will not go into "dim" mode. Terriblly distracting when you leave before the sun comes up.
I've read through the manual to find a way to change this, I've messed around with the settings and I simply can't find a way to set it so that the Nav will dim upon turning on the headlights.
As an aside, I've had 2 Sequoias with VERY similar navigation systems and never had this problem. The nab always dimmed with the headlights on, at least as I recall.
Think they screwed with something when they reprogrammed the locks or am I completely missing something? I really don't want to take it in for a simple setting change that I missed.
Thanks in advance for your insight.

Check your interior light dimmer ****. Once my wife gets back from running errands, I'm going to check mine.

I contacted my dealer....here's the solution:
Make sure the interior dash dimmer isn't "clicked" all the way to the right. It needs to be just one click to the left from all of the way right. Fixed it for me.
Thanks for the input, folks.
