Default Steering Wheel

Hi All,

I recently bought a 2001 LX470 and it has the full leather steering wheel. My wife would prefer the wood wheel if we can find one at a reasonable price. I've seen several LS400 wheels on e-bay but don't know if they're interchangable.

Does anyone have any direction/suggestions?

Thanks,
Tom

2001 without a wood wheel??
I thought it was standard on 2000+
Like the other guy said www.ebaymotors.com they are like
$800. Make sure you have your dealer install it, I heard it is a pain. G/L

A ls400 wheel is the exact same as the lx470 one. The install is very easy depite what others say. I did it myself in about 5 minutes with two common hand tools. Just ask for directions and i will be glad to tell you.

You are 100 Percent Positive? I have come across many E-bay'ers and the lexus dealer itself told me that they are not interchangeable. Do you have any pictures? If this is true I will be pleased and buy one off e-bay but I am just a bit "iffey" on it based on what I have heard in the past. Thanks,

Yes, mine looks just like the 2000 model. Check out my photo in the gallery of my wood wheel and shifter. Just make sure it is off an ls400 not 430 from like 99 or 2000. Those are the only ones that i know fit.

I would like to know how a LS wheel fits. After looking at this post, I bought a LS400 wood wheel for my 99 LX. I took off the airbag and the wheel. I tried to put on the LS wheel and it would not fit within the white plastic ring in the steering column. I looked at the LX wheel and the metal end that connects the wheel is much smaller with two ridges on each side. Now I am stuck with an LS wheel. I guess it will be back on ebay.

What year was the LS400 wheel you purchased that would not fit? I am interested in this too. I cannot seem to get a solid answer on the question from anyone on whether the LS400 wheel fits or not.
