Hey everyone, new to these forums and I am looking for some help. I have got a 99 LX470 with the Nakamichi sound system. I'm looking to replace the head unit and speakers to get some better sound and to have bluetooth connectivity to play music from my phone. I have heard people having issues with the wire harness for the lx and I was wondering what input you guys had on the issue. If any of you have experience working with the sound system in a lx please share so I can get a better idea what I am getting into. Thanks!

The LX has a 22 pin harness vs the Land Cruiser 20 pin... vendors aren't making the 22 pin version. The opening on the head unit is different than LC - Both are double DIN but LX has a stylized opening that needs a trim piece. Ok thanks. I have gotten to work splicing the wires together, but for the life of me I cant seem to get my Alpine 133bt to power on. I think I have all the cables connected properly. What is the procedure for connecting the cables that dont have direct matches on the new head unit?

Also, what are the sizes/positions of the speakers in the 99 lx 470. I am looking to replace all the speakers and want to get the sizes right. Thanks.

It talks about AIC-LAN signal from radio to Amp. This might be your issue. Please post if you discovered anything in your upgrade process.
