I was quoted the following for a LX 470 1998/108 K
Front brake pad replacement w/rotor resurface and hub seals = $675
Brake fluid exchange and brake line bleeding = $101
Fuel Injection and air induction service = $113
Power steering fluid exchange = $133
Parts and labor included.![Sad](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
Are these reasonable ???
Please let me know .

Everything is more costly at the stealership. Find a local Lexus certified mechanic or someone that specializes in servicing Lexus vehicles and take it in. Pretty much anything will be cheaper than a dealership...this option would be cheaper, I think. Anyone else agree?

Sounds pretty high to me too... I do this stuff for a living, and as long as you aren't replacing the rotors, somewhere in the $300-$400 range would be more in line with accurate...
is there something wrong with the front wheel bearings, requiring them to be repacked? if not, most decent shops should have an on the car brake lathe, which should reduce price to $100-$200 for a front brake job... the others are kinda high, but not unrealistic for a Lexus dealership...

I was quoted $991 for replacing front brakes only and another $991 for rears at Lexus in San Jose. I was pretty shocked since it didn't include new rotors, just resurfacing and pad replacement.
I guess it's all relative when it comes to labor rate.
So I took my LX to Infiniti and had it replaced for $168 labor. I bought new rotors from Lexus and let the Infiniti tech replace it and do the pads.
No, my car isn't flying off he road or jacked by the Infiniti tech (I also drive a G35 coupe and I know these guys from my maintainance visits). They actually did a great job without the rip off. Most certified mechanics will know what to do, brakes are similar on cars, some may be designed a bit different, but in the end brakes are brakes. Find a good referral or even a competing dealer you're comfortable with.

Toyota and Lexus are virtually one. Don't know where you live but If you live in Nor Cal, go to Beshoff Infiniti in San Jose. Believe or not they are reasonable and they let me watch the work in the service area unlike some dealers where you're forced to sit in the nice lounge area and don't know what the f is being done to your car. And by the time it comes back it has "supposedly" other issues for them to fix.

to replace or resurface the rotors the wheel bearings need to be removed and repacked, which is costly. Are they replacing the front calipers? If yes the cost are inline. Power steering fluid has nothing to do with the brake job and can be done at another time unless there is an issue

With conventional procedures, this is true... any shop worth a crap should have on the car brake lathe which allows for turning rotors without removing them... not only does it make resurfacing faster and easier, it also takes into account any rjnout caused by the hub or mounting procedures...

Here is the complete parts list for a front end refurb. They are toyota part numbers. Toyota makes LX470's.... do you get where I'm going with this? Find a Land Cruiser specialist and get your maintenance done there.

While I am not sure if the price is accurate for the front brakes, and I didn't inspect your vehicle, it sounds like they may be recommending a bearing repack/adjustment if the bearings are a bit loose...

Those prices are pretty good, IMHO.
Here are my price estimates based on $150/hr I paid at my Toyota dealer in AZ:
-Front wheel bearing repack: about $450 in labor plus $50 parts + $150 for resurfacing rotors+ rotor labor=750
-brake fluid flush: 1 hr labor + parts = $170
-PS fluid flush: 1 hr labor + parts = $170
So I think you're getting pretty darn good prices.
PS: The front wheel bearing repack is not that hard (but requires a few special tools and is time consuming...figure an entire day for a first-timer). Parts are like $50 regardless, but labor will be $0. My dealer was rebooting my CV boots, which requires removing the hub assembly, too. But they wanted $200 more to repack the inner bearings! I said "no, thank you." I've done it many times, have the tools, and know it's only about 30 min max per side for the inner bearing repack. Besides, they have to add grease to the outer bearings to torque them properly, so it's as if the outer bearings will already be getting new grease.
