well..there might be a filter but i dont know. My friend has a 2000 lexus lx470 and he asked me about the same thing. The reason u cant watch a movie while driving is because the electrical line to the dvd is hooked up to the hand brake. My friend with the lx470 cut the wire from the hand brake and connected it to the fuse box (which is located by the steering wheel). That is the easiest way to do it. Took him about 20min.
P.S. hook up the 12V (red wire) in an empty fuse & black ground wire to screw.
Tell me how it goes

I recently purchased a 02 LX470 and finally figured out what to do. I had to get a wiring diagram from my dealer on the nav system. There are two wires that need to be taken care of. If you can't get a hold of a wiring diagram let me know and I will copy the one I have and send it to you, with a description of what to do. The speed sensor wire has to be disconnected and the parking brake wire has to go to ground. It's great. My wife and I recently watched 3 movies on a 14 hour trip.

How does one change the DVD/Navagation so that it will be working while I am driving....Does the rear seat DVD screen display movies while driving? How can I get this modified so I can display movies on both the rear and front....
ps- Anyone have any suggestions for some Chrome 20's or 22's on the 2k3?

You guys may be looking way too deep if this is just for certain occasions. For many years now, the BMW's have operated in the same manner when you add the "Europe only" tuner. The answer was to just pull up the parking brake one tick. Mechanically, thats not near enough to drag the brakes, but will cause the light to come on and the TV prevention feature from going off. If the Lexus works the same way off the brake, it's an easy solution if you don't mind ignoring the brake light while the movies running.

Some of you guys have PM'ed me with the hopes I might have the solution for the problem. I think my post suggested I did. I am also trying to figure out how to fix this problem, therefore, I don't have the solution!

Go to the site below for instructions to override the DVD system while driving. There are 2 wires to cut, one for the parking brake and the other for the speed sensor.

Yea!!!
It Works!!!
I followed the instructions posted on the link EXACTLY and it only took about 30 minutes (including the ride around the block furtivly glancing at the Dave Mathews DVD playing on the dash).Just be CAREFUL removing the wood surround...the rest is obvious!!
