A friend of mine has a LX450, 1999. I have seen 1998 -99 Land Cr. with a Metal Front Push bar, anyone know where we can get one from. I assume that it would fit on the LX450, correct??
thanx in advance.

Hello-
Gotta be honest with you...don't know too much about brush guards. All I know of is a brand that I've seen in the auto magazines (like Motor Trend, etc...) Jaos is what it's called. They have a pic of an LX470 with one on.
Jaos Bull Bar
Hope this helps some...

How can your friends have a 1999 lx 450? The last year for the 450 was 1997. Keep in mind that a push bar will void the warrantee on any lexus truck due to it's interference with the airbag sensors. Just ask any lexus dealer....

Hello-
I just checked the website (Jaos) to find out about warrantee information. While I couldn't see anything about voiding the factory warrantee, I did find that Jaos' Bull Bars do not affect the airbag sensors. I recently e-mailed them to see if their products void factory warrantees and will let you know what they have to say. Then again...I could just call a Lexus dealer
Don't wanna start any fight (177mph)...but just wanted mention this.

Here in Australia there are a number of airbag compatible push, brush and bull bars for both the LX450 and LX470. My boss has a factory, dealer fit, bullbar on his LX 470. From what I've seen of the JAOS bars, they are more style then substance, then again that is more likely what most people want.

I'm pretty sure the warranty has expired by now anyway...hasn't it?
I'm contemplating finally putting one on my LX450, I just want a different look, I've had this same look for way too long. I was thinking either getting the stock wheels chromed and getting chrome brush and grille guards but that might be too tacky looking. So maybe just some regular black ones, or maybe charcoal to match the rocker panels.
But anyway....
You can get them everyone, search the internet and e-bay for the best prices. Remember that anything that fits a landcruiser will fit your car of the same generation span.

Franky Bones!! Your back, its been months since you've posted. Hows the Liquor store???
Re: the brush guard
Waag has always been a leader in the industry for fit and finish. www.waag.com
Its tough buying them on the net because shipping is so damn expensive, not to
mention you can only get the 3 peice ones shipped not the one piece.

Just installed on on my LX470 2004 model.
Warranty does not get void.
Like the JAOS center protector since it does not stick out like a bull bar.
Cost installed was about $750.
Have a look at the posted image at this website

I have the ARB with a 10,000 pound Warn winch on my 470. Solid set-up which works well in clearing fallen trees and in getting out of stucks. The rubber front push pads work well in moving stalled traffic.
Supposed to be air-bag OK.
Pic is in the gallery under "Coming Home".
