Hey all,

Does the LX have the sulfur smell seen in many 4Runners and a few GX470?? In addition, is there a vibration problem like in GX??

Yes. I bought a new 2003 LX 470 in Nov. 02 and occasionally noticed the smell. What is it from and is there anything that can be done ?

I think it is related to the new catalytic converters on new Lexus.

sulfur is natural component of crude oil. sulfur in gas is regulated in california. if vehicle is running ok-no mils, fuel trim ok etc. try different brand of gasoline.

There are some GX470s with the sulfur smell. It depends on the unit you get. A lot of GX owners say they have the sulfur smell and they live in or near the coasts. You should ask your Lexus dealer about it. Luckily my GX470 doesn't have that Sulfur smell. It only has a creak in the driver seat which is just fine with me.
