HID Foglight Retrofit
I had a set of Morimoto Matchbox projectors I was going to retrofit into my highbeam location but decided to put the Mini H1
in the high beam location so I decided to bake my fog lights, open them up and take a look.
it was really pretty straightforward I removed the OEM projector made a flat bracket that matched the factory attachment points using the plastic adjustment clip and mounted the matchbox projectors which fit perfect.

If you want to use your fog lights in actual fog, imo you'd be much better off going to a lower color temperature. White light tends to reflect right back into your face. Yellowish light does the deed in the fog. Mine are simply 45W hid lamps (3500K iirc) that throw a tremendous pattern just below the low beams. They also do a great job with enough of a horizontal spread to light up both sides of a 2-lane highway, including 3-4 feet each side of the pavement.

not sure anything I put in thesre will make much of a difference...I'm just finishing up a quad set up using a Morimoto D2S
and the Mini H1

Awesome Job man! By the way for your low beams what size is it? The Morimoto D2S 2.5" or 3" and where did you get them from. Please let me know I'm interested in doing the same thing!

Projectors
It would be easier to install the Mini H1 ....you have to open up the shroud to fit the D2S
There's more info on the links below

Just ordered my Mini H1's from Morimotohid.com for $160.00 for a pair. Got it today but what's the 2 wires for? and my god the instructions for installation is written by a 2 year old. Tells nothing about how to install but just shows what the product is! I'm checking out your link and do I need the Bracket from that site? If so I can order that right? Thanks! I'm new to this retrofit game!

Wow, thanks so much! So I went and ordered the bracket from your site. The PDF that you linked there is full and detailed. Once I get the bracket the only thing I got left is pulling the head light unit off, bake it, open it, retro fit it, then glue/seal back on. Or am I'm missing a step? I'm scrolling through your forum, and there's a lot of detailed information on it. Can you provide me with a short list of tools needed, any extra screws etc size? Thanks!
