Anyone know how much money is involved in timing belt replacement on 2000 LX470 with 90,000 miles? Any thoughts on work to be performed? Other Lexus cars I have owned had water pump, tensioner, etc. replaced at same time.
Thanks
Thanks

I have a 99 lx470 with 111,000 miles and i am getting ready to do a major tune up/water pump/timing belt/ etc. I was wondering what thing you would reccomend doing while the engine is broken apart. The car is running great right now but i have just never had the t-bellt or water pump replced. I was also wondering if anyone could give me a complete list of parts needed for this job.. I would also like opinions on whether you guys think that this a doable job for a medium skill level owner such as myself with the service manual? Thanks for any infomation.

I changed my main drive serpentine belt at the same time. I also had the shop perform a 4wd service at that time as well but that had more to do with the fact that it was in the shop so I may as well have all of the fluids changed and everything greased. I talked with a parts manager and came to the conclusion that the T-belt was beyond my mechanical aptitude.
