Default I finally purchased a 2000 lx470

I did it. I finally added the second Lexus to the family, I purchased a 2000 Lexus LX470. It is Riverrock green with grey interior , full interior wood kit, nak sound, one owner, with 53000 miles. Carfax is clean(hopefully no flood vehicle) It is from Texas, I am going to get it on Friday, supposedly it is in PRISTINE condition, we will see. It comes with all service records, 5k 10k, 25k, 45 k services and it has remainder of powertrain warranty. I can not wait. Everybody said I was stupid for buying a car for that kind of price with 50 k miles, thay want to know why I did not buy a Ford or GM product for the same new. I have a 99 gs300 with 80000 miles and it is still very solid, low road noise and drives very well. Any recommendations for a 17 hour straight through drive from Texas, as far as keeping the vehicle going...

I paid 30,200 and have to drive it home 1000 miles. Pay 2000 tax so 32200 out the door essentially...

50% residual after 3 yrs and 50K miles, that's not a bad deal to me. Good luck with yours.

I'd go ahead and buy some new windshield wiper blades just in case they are worn out. It would stink to have to do a long road trip with loud or useless wipers if it rains. Also, I'd take enough money for a new set of tires. At that mileage I bet the factory tires are still on there and may be about done. Maybe there is a brand new set on there though, just be prepared. That is another thing I would like to have the peace of mind about on a 17 hour trip. If the tires look okay then just be happy about it but at least this way you are prepared if need be. Also make sure the ENTIRE toolkit is still in the vehicle. Most likely it's never been touched but that is just something you would not want to be without if you have to change a tire. Since you have not seen the vehicle you purchased did you have a Lexus dealer do a pre-purchase inspection? That would put most questions to rest.

Before I purchased it the seller took it to a Lexus dealer and said inspect "EVERYTHING and FIX whatever needs tro be fixed. They ended up replacing rear brakes and the air filter. Should I feel good about that inspection. Should I trust that they inspected EVERYTHING..He said that the tires have about 15000 to 20000 miles left on them, which is not a big deal because I want to put like a 22 inch chrome wheel on it any ways. As long as I make it home...

You should be fine with that amount of tread left AND if you are going to put custom wheels and tires on them just save your money; the tires will make it. Tire life is about 5 years, so you'd need to replace them next year anyways, so your timing to put custom wheels on it is perfect. have fun on the drive home!

Yeah, I'd feel very comfortable if the dealer had looked it over. My LTX's had 78k on them when I got the truck and they were definitely at the point of needing replacement. For your seller to say they have at least 10k left on them at 58k miles sounds reasonable. Make sure and take pics for us and enjoy!
