Removal Transmission Pan, Won't drop, Help Please
Hello Everyone,
I am attempting to remove the transmission pan on my 2000 LX470, due to the bolt being stripped and threads on the pan destroyed ( i have no idea how this didn't leak). I removed all the bolts per some videos on YouTube, and drained the fluid, but I am guessing that the gasket sealant been on there so long it won't let go of it. Tried banging it with a hammer and it won't move, in addition I removed the transmission dipstick but unless my eyes are playing tricks on me isn't the funnel bolted somewhere on the side of the engine bay area? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The dipstick is in sections maybe the lowest part is not coming off the upper part? Or do you have the dipstick completely removed. Use a putty knife to break the seal wedge it between the RTV gasket and pan not the gasket and transmission. And of course make sure ALL the bolts are removed don't know off hand how many there are.

I will try that. All bolts have been removed already. I think from reading info online there is a 12 mm bolt holding the lower dipstick funnel in place. I will be trying again tonight and let everyone know in a few days if i fail.
